Norfolk Island is a small island in the South Pacific located between Australia, New Zealand and French New Caledonia, 1412 kilometres (877 miles) directly east of the coast of Australia and about 900 kilometres (560 miles) east of Lord Howe Island. The island belongs to Australia but is largely self-governed.
Originally populated by East Polynesians, Norfolk Island was colonised by Great Britain in 1788. The island served as a penal colony until May 1855. Permanent civilian residence began on the island in 1856. The descendants of the HMS Bounty mutineers also found their home on Norfolk Island. The entire population of Pitcairn Island transferred to Norfolk Island at the end of the 19th century.
Henk van Staalduinen BV Sales Office has had its own nursery on Norfolk Island since 2006 and it is here that we germinate our selected seeds with great passion. Our germinated seeds can be delivered free of charge to the Netherlands practically all year round.
